The small team at HisHost began as web developers back in the mid 90's to assist various non-profit organizations in getting on the new Internet.  We spent a lot of time just trying to educate people of the importance of the internet and the promising future of using it.  We have always been community service oriented and our team still donate and volunteer much of their time to local community organizations.  

We have always believed the status quo was never good enough, that our projects and our clients deserved better than what we could find available and at far better pricing, in 2000 we formed HisHost and began doing it (domain hosting) ourselves - our way.

At that time reasonably priced hosting was unheard of - before HisHost.  Most of our clients were non-profit Christian organizations, churches and schools on a tight budget.  Their work is/was important but they had little to spend and deserved to be treated with respect in spite of their frugal pocketbook.  When no one we could find offered a decent amount of web space below $20/month we found a way to offer instant online web development, 50 megs of space and cgi-bin loaded with pre-installed scripts we'd gleaned from here and there - all for $15/month the first year.  After the first year we had enough paying clients we were able to reduce that cost to $7.50 per month.

A few years later we were able to offer that $7.50 per month cost with 75 megs of space, the outstanding Cpanel with Deluxe Fantastico and now added even the extra expense of Universina theme manager to those same clients at no additional charge.  Rather than changing pricing structures and confusing existing clients we prefer to surprise everyone with new features and options whenever possible.  And we continue to provide the same personalized caring service even if it means staying up half the night with a webmaster to help him clean up his client's email accounts.

Well some of our clients become adept web developers themselves along the way so we developed the Virtual Server idea. And we've always offered a referral bonus of one month free hosting to an existing client equal to that of any new client that signs up for a year when referred by that existing client.  Just be sure to let us know who you've sent and tell them to tell us you sent them as well.

In 2003 some our clients worked with us to test out content management systems available inside their Fantastico library.  We finally settled on two as the best for the average user with no programming knowledge - Mambo and then Joomla.  So we began to make it a priority to learn how to develop templates for those programs as well as teach our clients how to use them.  We even developed an illustrated tutorial document for our clients so they can get the most from these great programs.

We believe in tithing and general gifts of time, money and resources to charitable causes.  Doing good in this life is the only thing that might survive us once we're done with this human body shell.  Doing this, doing it well, and helping those honest folk and groups truly needing a leg up once in a while is where it's at for us.   And we thank all our good customers for making our job a joy.

We don't just accept anybody as a client.  We know most of our clients would be offended to even think they shared the same server as someone into a negatively oriented project, pornography or spammers.  Spammers are the bane of all our lives and we simply cannot see promoting it by accepting money from a spammer regardless of how much they are willing to pay.  For this reason we continue to require all new clients wait until we can personally review their application for hosting.  We have automated hosting processes at our disposal but we monitor them constantly to prevent abuse. (You would not want your web site to disappear because the datacenter discovered your server hosted spammers.  Most datacenters will remove equipment violating spamming or engaging in other illegal activities.  That means innocent clients on that offensive server lose everything!)

Our name has been used fraudulently by spammers over the years.  We probably made a few enemies because we turned down their money back when reasonably priced hosting was a scarcity.  But don't be fooled.  If you think anyone is using our services to send out spam, open up the full header of that offending email and look - you'll see it actually originates somewhere else - and the con artist has just put a HisHost.Com email address in the reply box.
